Francisco (Pancho) Enríquez is a naturalist, photographer and birder who organizes specialize birding, photography and nature trips to the High Andes, Tropical Rain Forests and the Galápagos Islands mainly in Ecuador-South America but also extending to some of our neighboring countries Peru and Colombia. This trips are oriented for people interested in a learning and discover experience about the birds and wild life of the areas we are visiting but also in documenting with photographs and/or video the amazing creatures and landscapes that we´ll encounter during our adventures.
About Pancho
I have been a naturalist and birder since 1992 when I finished my studies of ecotourism at the University of tourism in Quito; my thesis was a survey of the under story birds at Zancudo lake in Cuyabeno Wild Life Reserve in the Amazon basin of Ecuador; right away I started working for the “Flotel Orellana” a floating hotel drifting on the Aguarico River in the ecuadorian Amazon; since then until now I have kept working as a naturalist, birder and photographer for many Ecuadorian companies like Metropolitan Touring been the first Naturalist and Bird Guide for the famous “Mashpi Lodge” in the cloud forest of Ecuador. I have also worked at La Selva Lodge, Sacha Lodge and Napo Wild Life Center in the ecuadorian Amazon, I have worked as a Bird Guide for Neblina Forest, Mindo Bird Tours and many others including Explorandes tour company and Bellavista lodge. I also studied photography at the French Alianza and graduated from the New York Institute of Photography before the digital era.
Some other jobs and stuff I´ve made are: in year 2000 for over a month I assisted Kevin Shafer, a National Geographic photographer, documenting the ecosystems and wild life of the cloud forests of Ecuador and Colombia.
In 2006 I published the book “Ecuador Natural Patrimony of Human Kind”
In 2008 I worked as a “Trip Leader” for OAT (Over Seas Adventure Travel) a very well known American tour company that provides services in Ecuador; during this time I got some of the best grades given by the passengers as a trip leader in the program called: “Amazon Wild Galápagos”
In 2010 I did my first international photography exposition in Dusseldorf, Germany; since then I have kept working full time as a professional birder, naturalist and photographer.
Now I,d like to invite you to come with me in what I consider are some of the most beautiful trips in some of the most beautiful areas that I have known specially in Ecuador and our neighbors Peru and Colombia. I will be more than happy besides helping you with the spotting of wild life specially of birds, but also explaining you about the natural history of what we see, helping you with the functioning of your digital still and video cameras and digital software like “Light Room” and “Photo Shop” for stills and with “Final Cut Pro” for movies. I will emphasis about important cultural sites Like the cities of Quito, Cuzco and Macchu Picchu or special archeological sites like the Lord of Sipan in northern Perú or Tiawanaco in Titicaca lake, etc. When we are preparing a tailor made trip for you, I´ll let you know the options and you can decide how much time you give to this sites, after of course some suggestions from my experience.
